Choosing between schnitzel and goulash
“Wiener Schnitzel (Veal)” and “Chicken Schnitzel” are separate dishes. Both are breaded; your choice is between veal and chicken. Read the accompanying sides as well as the dish name when deciding what to order.
“Beef Goulash” is another option in the Viennese classics section. The selection here includes menu descriptions to help you compare. Open the full food section for the remaining dishes and additional sides.
Other hot dishes and sweet options
You will also find “Caramelised Cabbage Fleckerl” and “Egg Nockerl”. A few Austrian words help when comparing the German and English menus: Erdäpfel means potatoes, Vogerlsalat is lamb’s lettuce and Marillen means apricots. Ask the team about the preparation of an unfamiliar dish.
For something sweet, compare “Kaiserschmarrn” with “Apricot Pancakes”. Check the accompaniments and optional extras so you know what comes with the dish and what would be an additional order.
Dinner followed by a drink at the bar
For a meal with friends or dinner for two, choose from our regular food menu. Stay afterwards for wine, beer, a spritz or a cocktail. The drinks menu lists the selection and prices; you are also welcome just for a drink.
For a birthday or a private evening with your group, enquire about Stein’s Diners downstairs: a small private bar available for an additional fee. Agree the date, services and cost directly with the café.
